This tranquil scene was at the mouth of the Kennebeck River where it meets the Atlantic at Kennebunkport, Maine. The glassy surface was the perfect mirror for the little red boat.

Photography is in the genes, it seems, and with the encouragement of my professional photographer grandfather, I began seeing the world through the lens of my first camera starting in 1950. Over the years I’ve been refining my “eye” through a wide variety of classes and seminars, learning new methods of expressing what I find appealing, sometimes in realism, and other times in fanciful abstraction.
